Why I Consider Myself the Richest Person on Earth
I have to be honest with you – I consider myself the richest person on earth. Not because of the precious metals business I’ve been blessed to run for 15 years, but because I’ve been surrounded by strong, foundational family members my entire life. Grandparents who showed me what commitment looked like. Parents who demonstrated love in action. Siblings who became my closest friends and business partners. Friends who have become family. A wife and two children who work alongside me every day at CMI.
Together, we overcome challenges and celebrate victories—a true definition of wealth.
The Current Reality We’re Facing
As I look around today, it feels like the family unit has been under attack for years. And as families have weakened, our problems seem to multiply:
- Crime rates
- Mental health struggles
- Economic instability
- The Disconnection in Modern Life
- We’re living in times where: Family dinners are rare.
I can’t help but wonder if there’s a connection. Multiple generations rarely live in the same town, let alone work together. Technology connects us globally, but often disconnects us at home. Every day, I see people searching for something solid to hold onto—whether that’s precious metals for financial security or just someone who truly has their back.
It’s Never Too Late to Build Something Strong
Maybe it’s the family you were born into, or maybe it’s the family you choose. What matters most is having people who believe in you unconditionally.
You might be thinking: “Easy for you to say, Johnny. You won the family lottery. “But strong families aren’t born—they’re built. In my 28 years of marriage and raising children, I’ve learned that it takes:
- One conversation at a time
- One decision at a time
- One act of grace at a time
Being vulnerable isn’t a weakness—it’s the foundation of trust.
Every Family Starts Somewhere
Every generation has the opportunity to be the turning point. Those moments of vulnerability teach our kids that perfection isn’t the goal—growth is. We’re all working on progress, committed to progressing together.
The Ripple Effect at CMI Gold & Silver
At CMI, we’ve had the unique blessing of building a business with family—my wife Shannon, my in-laws, and our kids. We’ve created something that goes beyond profit margins:
- A legacy of working together and supporting each other
- Lasting, meaningful relationships with clients who become part of our extended family
- Serving multiple generations within the same families
This ripple effect—a growing network of families united by a common goal—has shaped the CMI Gold & Silver family.
Investing in What Really Matters
People come to us every day looking to protect their wealth with precious metals. They know gold and silver hold value when everything else feels uncertain. But here’s what I’ve learned: the most valuable investment you can make isn’t in your portfolio—it’s in your family relationships.
Like precious metals, strong family relationships require:
- Intentional investment
- Attention and care
- Ongoing refinement
- Consistent investment in relationships becomes your most reliable source of strength.
Starting Where You Are
If you think your family situation is too far gone, I want to encourage you: it’s never too late. Start with a phone call, a text, or an invitation to coffee. Sometimes the strongest families are the ones that have had to fight the hardest to stay together. Apologizing—even when it’s not your fault—shows that love matters more than being right.
Just as it’s never too late to rebuild family connections, it’s never too late to begin investing for your financial future. Start with what you can, set a clear goal, and stick with it. Consistent, disciplined investing helps build resilience and stability—just like building a strong family foundation.
The Legacy We’re Building
The precious metals we help people acquire will outlast us all. Gold and silver have been stores of value for thousands of years. But what lasts even longer are the values we pass down.
- Loving unconditionally
- Working together
- Never giving up on each other
In a divided world, maybe the answer isn’t found in politics or policies—but in families and communities committed to loving and supporting each other well.
That’s the kind of wealth that truly lasts forever.
